WHAT DO WE DO?

In order to develop Leaders, we guide the Boy Scouts to decide what to do, plan, and lead the activities.  Adult leaders provide support... logistics support, training, and supervision.  Adults should only step in for legal/safety matters.  (how else can we expect them to grow?).  Together we go and have fun.  The leadership model we wish to emulate is a Positive Servant Leader.

Our Boy Scout Outdoor Program includes a broad range of activities as:

Hiking, Cycling, Mountain Biking, Camping, Canoeing, Backpacking, Zip Lines, COPE, Rappelling, Wilderness Survival and primitive skills, Fishing, Cycling, Electronics, Electricity, Engineering, Citizenship (Community, Nation, & World), and Parades.

God and Country Programs/Awards (God and Church, God and Life)

Scout Sunday (we meet once a year to give thanks and to share what we do)

Summer Camp: Swimming, Canoeing, Lifesaving, Small boat sailing, Archery, Rifle & Shotgun, First Aid, Safety, Physical Fitness, Crafts: Leatherwork, Metalwork, Sculpture, pottery, Art, Soil and Water Conservation, Nature, Mammal Study, Amphibian and Reptile Study, and much more...

Council and District events and Camporees

Leadership Training and Team building

Community Service Projects

WEBELOS Campouts & Bridging

Courts of Honor

Order of the Arrow (Scouting’s National Honor Society) Recognize those who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and through that recognition cause others to conduct themselves in a way that warrants similar recognition. "An Arrowman's primary responsibility is the troop...those that elected you.. to them you should devote most of your service."

HOW WE ARE ORGANIZED

The Senior Patrol Leader is the Boy Scout selected to be in charge of the Troop.

New Scouts join Patrols of 8 Scouts which are lead by an elected Patrol Leader.  Patrol Leaders lead outings, Scouting skills, training, and advancement.  Younger Scouts are mentored and taught by older Scouts under the direction of a Patrol Leader.

The Scoutmaster selects Assistant Scoutmasters, works with a Parent Committee, and oversees the well being of the unit side by side with the Senior Patrol Leader and his staff.

Greater detail is explained in Organization

HOW WE COMMUNICATE

Troop web calendar

Parent Table with Detailed Event fliers

Event details are planned by the Scouts and discussed at Troop Meetings.

Parents are responsible to discuss with their Scout and to learn about upcoming events due to absences.

Patrol Leaders call/communicate with patrol members to review details.

A word about email... it is best used for quick updates of events... and nothing else.

Email easily looses its ability to fully capture most anything outside of a yes/no answer....especially for items of concern.. insead please see an adult in person or pick up the phone and call avoiding email. Thank you.

Inappropriate email will be recorded and may be forwarded to staff and BSA professional legal department for review and you may wish to find a more suitable unit using a membership transfer form

Please use the Troop Inquiry form to explore suggestions or concerns.

Blogs are not used, we'd rather camp, hike, and have real fun ... outside!

WHO TO CONTACT:

We don't post email addresses or contact information for privacy and safety of our leaders.  Please visit our troop on a scheduled meeting night instead.
