RELIGIOUS AWARDS

Duty to God Brochure

Youth Religious Emblem Knot Youth Religious Emblem - Worn by youth and adult members who received a religious emblem as a youth member.
Adult Religious Award Knot Adult Religious Award - Worn by adults who received nominated religious awards as an adult.
The New emblem features a four-colored cross. The colors correspond to the four levels in the P.R.A.Y. series, i.e. God and Me (red), God and Family (yellow), God and Church (blue), and God and Life (green). The four colors converge into a point to create an “X” at the center of the cross. “X” is the first letter in the Greek word for Christ, and it is symbolic of how Christ should be at the center of our lives.

The recognition is a pin which can be worn on its own and is intended to be worn on the God and Life ribbon,

Note that the Venturing device is used for the God and Family whether earned as a Boy Scout or Venture.

The PRAY Youth Religious Awards listed above may be earned by a boy or girl.  The youth awards do not require any registration in Scouting.  The BSA Youth Award silver knot on the purple background is No. 05007.  A BSA Device (pin) is worn on the knot for each time it was earned.  (Up to four devices.)

The Youth Religious Award Knot may be worn if the recipient has earned a PRAY Award as a YOUTH.  This is one of the few knots that can be worn by a BSA youth (above the left pocket).  Youth or adult members who earned the knot as a YOUTH may wear the YOUTH award.  The BSA knot recognizes a church's award.

The youth awards are earned by completing a program to help them grow stronger in their faith.  If a youth completes all four levels as a youth, he or she would wear all four pins on the silver knot with the purple background.  He would also qualify for the Four Star Award.  Additional resources are below.
